About

Hello, I am a lifestyle feature writer with a passion for creating entertaining, thought-provoking and inspiring stories. I love writing profile pieces and have captured the life stories of celebrities, business leaders and sporting giants, including comedian Shaun Micallef, media personality Annabel Crabb, AFLW legend Erin Phillips and London bombing survivor Gill Hicks.

I have written for a variety of titles including SA Weekend magazine where one of my assignments was delving into Adelaide’s underground “kink culture” of master and servant (story link below). This story was a finalist in the SA Media Awards Best Feature in 2020.

I am currently features editor at SA Life magazine where I write stories about beautiful homes and interiors, travel, food and wine, as well as my monthly profile pieces on high-profile South Australians. My feature story on media identity Amanda Blair title “Facing facts” won a “Commended” award at the 2023 SA Press Club Awards (story link below).

I also contribute regularly to Solstice Media’s online arts magazine InReview, interviewing names such as musician Dave Graney, celebrity chef Poh Ling Yeow and comedian Julia Zemiro.

I stepped out journalism for five years for a role as publicity executive at Adelaide Festival Centre, delivering national and local publicity campaigns for a variety of festivals and shows, including Adelaide Guitar Festival, Adelaide Cabaret Festival and Dream Big Children’s Festival, working with names such as Tim Minchin, Eddie Perfect and Tommy Emmanuel.

So, I know how the media works - from both sides - how to connect with a broad range of people and how to create accurate and interesting content that people want to read.

I studied journalism in Adelaide and then started my career in Sydney’s magazine industry, working as a writer and sub-editor on titles including NW, Women’s Health, Ralph, That’s Life and Better Homes and Gardens.

Returning to Adelaide a decade later, I was appointed as a gossip columnist at News Corp, delivering a two-page entertainment and gossip column under the banner of my name in the Sunday Mail, read by more than half a million South Australians weekly.

I then moved into the role of deputy editor of News Corp’s magazine division, spearheaded by the Adelaide* magazine, a monthly lifestyle title. I was also editor of News Corp’s luxury title Deluxe and the home magazine, Adelaide Living, as well as writing an opinion column in the Sunday Mail called ‘Femail’.

I am driven by an interest in people and places, life experiences, travel, diversity, empathy and shining a light into what makes us all tick.
